Clay Aiken: What HE Was Like At Age 15
The following was posted at TMZ by someone who claims to have known Clay when Clay was 15 years old.
Her account sounds plausible enough and it doesn't seem that Clay has matured psychologically at all during his life.
It makes one wonder if Clay was really bullied, as he loves recall, or if CLAY was the bully himself. He's certainly been acting like one lately and he seems to revel in it. Clay? Grow up. Be a man.
Here's the thing that amuses me. I knew Clay Aiken when he himself was actually 15, and I was struck by just how immature he was. He wasn't cast in a theatre role which he obviously felt he was right for, so he ended up in the chorus. After all, when he auditioned he said he would be willing to take any role, and while he may have been disappointed in not getting one of the lead roles, it was astounding how much of a grudge he seemed to carry.
He was constantly whining, putting down the guy who got the role he wanted, making "snarky" comments about others in the cast, (one was even to the face of a 12-year-old girl, who was reduced to tears on one occasion, aside from that, he reserved his painful put-downs behind his fellow cast members backs.) He carried a huge superiority complex, thought he was too good for the show, and certainly didn't believe in teamwork. When one of the tech crew, who had grown increasingly weary of Clay's immature antics, decided to hide his stuffed Sylvester cat from out of his dressing room, Clay broke down and threw a temper tantrum. He was "only" 15-years of age at the time, but he acted like a spoiled brat of 7.
Needless to say, his frustration over not being cast in the next two shows he auditoned for was in no small part due to him being a difficult person to work with. No one wanted to be around his negative energy, and his bitterness.
I had hoped he had outgrown his "issues", but these continuing stories of his "diva"ish attitude doesn't inspire me with any confidence.
Clay's fans, those few he has left, should be willing to at least acknowledge that Clay at 15 was every bit as repulsive as they claim Joshua is. If this viewpoint is all new to you, then understand that his "memoirs" conveniently ignored certain actions on his part that were less than endearing.
His sore attitude did him no favors.

Standing proudly in front of an internet camera, the former American Idol star apparently sheds his clothes until he is literally butt-naked.
The man who supplied us with the images — a 22-year-old homosexual school teacher — says Aiken performed the crude striptease in a bid to solicit him for sex via a gay website.
In recent weeks, The National Enquirer has uncovered several men who claim they encountered the singer as he surfed the internet looking for casual sex.
While Aiken has repeatedly denied he is gay, ex-soldier John Paulus told how he also shared 90 sordid minutes of passion with Aiken in a hotel room on January 2. In our new story, the teacher from Boston, Mass., who did not want to be named, said he met Aiken on the gay chat site Manhunt.net.
In a National Enquirer website exclusive, we are providing excerpts of the internet chat which is claimed to have taken place last December 5 — one day before Aiken appeared in concert in Boston.

Clay Aiken: Still An American Asshole! Joshua Willard Speaks!
125. Hi people, its Joshua Willard!!!
I really don't understand why everyone is so upset with me??? The Greensboro Symphony called me three weeks prior to the concert and asked me to sing because Clay gave them the first half of the show!!!
So I got there on Saturday, did a rehearsal, did a sound check, and then Lisa Crawford, the director of the symphony called me and Alden(the other girl that was cancelled also) into an office, locked the door, and told us that she didn't know how to tell us this, but Clay and his people cancelled our acts because they werent festive!!! Well GUESS WHAT!!! We didn't have a say-so in what we sang!!!
So they handed us tickets and told us to sit and watch the concert or leave, and that they all felt sorry for us!!! Well, my family, like most of you, paid 500$ for tickets!!! And then they found out that i was cancelled!!!
The Greensboro felt sorry for the fact that our acts were cancelled, and we had driven 50 min.(gas isn't cheap ya' know) and wasted our day!!! So they were able to let us sing 30 sec. of "White Christmas,"( and for those of you that think that I wasn't loud enough! my mic. was screwing up,[the same one that Clay was using], AND I wasn't supposed to be loud b/c I was singing harmony!!!)
So, then, right before I go on stage, Alden and I are both told that there were also 4 or 5 other acts that were ALSO cancelled! And GUESS WHAT AGAIN... They WERE CHRISTMAS ACTS!!!
Well, I was on the news Fri. before the concert and Fox 8 was expecting me to be on stage Sat., and I wasn't!!! So they called me Wed. @ 9:27 AM and asked me what happened!!! And all i did was answer honestly!!! It is not my fault that not everything of my 45 min. interview was put on the news!!!
So all you people saw was what was against Clay!!! You people need to understand that all i did was answer questions!!! And I could care less about publicity!!! I just want whoever cancelled my act, and many others to admit it, or appologize, because they are causing major screw ups!!!
I am very mature and have lots of things going for me!!! I wouldn't try to trash somebody for no apparent reason!!!

And people... another thing...I didn't want 15 min. of fame!!! I didn't know this story would make the headlines!!! I am a 15 year old boy for crying out loud!!! I'm too busy worrying about my own life @ school, and what my first cars going to be!!! Please!!! If I wanted 15 min. of fame, I would get it another way!!!
I am a huge christian and don't believe that putting people down is right!!! And NO... I did not put Clay down!!! The news asked the questions, I only gave them an honest answer!!!
However.. Clay was rude @ the concert... making remarks about Kelly Ripa and making Flatulence jokes!!! And the way he acted to certain ppl in the audience!!! Come on!!!
At the end of the concert he even talked up the local arts and how we should all support them!!! Well guess what!!! He was being hypocritical!!! Because he cancelled the local arts!!! So you people should really put down your defense walls for Clay and just think!

This is the first Clutterance in a while and it is a long one. I’d like to express some thoughts using Clay’s words.
There were so many comments about how much Clay was enjoying himself during the Juke Box Tour. If you read the reviews both in newspapers and from fans who attended it’s a common theme…Clay loved being on that stage. Then there are the wonderful quotes from the banter that happened at different venues:

When Clay said in the TV Guide interview:

Some decided that he was slamming ordinary people in LA. Whatever Clay heard on the boards or from acquaintances after that interview was released caused him to restate the obvious:
Quote: "I said I felt people there put too much emphasis on the outsides and not their insides," Aiken says. "What I meant to say was 'people in the entertainment industry' and I kind of generalized 'entertainment industry' as 'L.A.' and it came out that way. I read it back that way and went, 'Oh, crap,' and it kind of stirred a commotion amongst fans and whatnot, and that's nothing that would ever have happened to me before."

Remember the Sewell, New Jersey incident when Clay was being accused of treating kids in a poor manner. This was not anything like the Clay that we knew – nothing like Clay had always talked about. Later we learned that indeed it was all baloney – and we also learned that Clay was hurt by the fact that he was accused of something that was so anti his character:
Quote: The only downside to his global celebrity is that it has made him a target for the tabloids, which realize his face on the cover will sell papers. Not even someone with his wholesome image is immune to their creative smearing. He's adopted the savvy strategy of ignoring them, but one piece, which was sent to him, was especially hurtful, he said. "One of them wrote I was working with a children's choir last Christmas and I was rude to them. I've spent my entire life working with kids, trying to help them." The only consolation, he said, is, "I think most people didn't believe this story because it was so preposterous." (Sun-Sentential – April 2,2005)
There are a number of times that this has happened… Clay has been accused of things that are not anything like the Clay Aiken as HE says he is.
Again, during the Juke Box Tour, Clay gave some awesome interviews. In them there are tons of personal things that he said about himself that are remarkably similar to what he has always said. He is consistent and I think that should be heeded – It helps in understanding just who Clay is. “IT’S MY SHOW reaches a lot further that stage left or stage right:
Quote: "When people are screaming at you on stage it's a kind of selfish fulfillment, that's the only way I can think of to describe it," he says. "Who doesn't want to have people love and enjoy what they do? But there's only so much you can get from people telling you how wonderful you are. (Express Times 8/2005)
I love seeing people joyful. It’s great to witness the effects of the music. It makes the long drive to the next city that much easier when I know it will matter to people that I am coming to sing. (LTS)
"There's a completely different satisfaction in learning what there is to do to help other people. I don't feel like my trip to Uganda is going to greatly change the situation there. But even if it's a small change it was worth it." (Express Times)
Singing in front of a stadium of fans is wonderful, but it pales in comparison to being embraced by a child. (LTS pg144)
CLAY’S FAITH REMAINS AT THE CORE OF EVERYTHING:
Quote: "I feel everybody has a purpose on Earth and God has given each person a gift to improve the surroundings they're in once they've discovered what that gift is," he adds. "So each person's purpose is for the glory of God and to better our surroundings." (Express Times)

It’s concrete evidence for me that God has a plan and that it’s important to continue to have faith in Him and His ability to guide my life and not to rely on myself or any earthly person to do that…… where I am now is because of His direction and His guidance (that) makes it a lot easier for me now to realize – well just give it up and allow God to control what you’re doing in your life each and every day. "In church in Raleigh, the congregation used to say, “Make sure you use your voice for the Lord.” I feel that is what I’m doing. And I will continue doing it until the Lord tells me to pipe down." (LTS)
KIDS ARE MOST IMPORTANT:

I don't know if Clay Aiken is gay or not (!), but I do know one thing about him for sure - he's a giant mouthful of super-sized extra-cheese slathered-in-secret-sauce shitburger.What Crabbie? Clay Aiken? America's not-gay sweetheart?
How can you say something like that about our little Claykins?

Well, I'm sorry to disillusion you Clayheads, but it's true - your American Idol (runner-up) is nothing but a prick.
He promises to make little children's dreams come true, then smashes them like Rosie O'Donnell falling on a coffee table.
Just ask Joshua Willard, the pubescent winner of a singing competition whose prize was to perform with Aiken at his Holiday concert. Willard, supposedly because he intended singing Stevie Wonder's Superstition instead of a holiday song, was told by Aiken's people that he wouldn't be allowed to go on. And it turns out that Willard wasn't the only disappointed youngster at the concert, as several other scheduled performers had their hopes dashed at the last minute.
Of course, Aiken's slimy reps tried glossing over the whole fiasco by saying the kids were never promised they could perform with Clay.So Clay Aiken thinks he's too good to be seen on-stage with a bunch of nobodies.
Apparently Mr. Snootiepants forgets that, not long ago, he was the nobody, who would've been lucky to get work mopping floors at Costco. And as for Aiken's reps saying they never promised the kids they could sing: How come Joshua Willard was allowed to rehearse his Steve Wonder number before being told his performance was cancelled? Obviously, somebody thought the kid was going to be going on. And if that wasn't the case, then he should've been told beforehand, not after getting his number all ready.
Shame on you, handlers of Clay Aiken. And shame on you Clay Aiken for turning into yet another phony, fancy-pants celebrity who thinks his shit doesn't smell.
Oh, and speaking of shit and other things ass-related - did you know Clay Aiken has a childish fascination with flatulence? That's another report coming out of the Holiday concert - that Clay, during soundcheck, would pretend he had cut one every time some feedback came out of the speakers.
Real classy Clay. You fart-faking, kid-trashing, closet-living feces-patty.

Well, since Joshua Willard Mann is from Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, I am wondering how he managed to win TRIAD Idol and why he was being promoted in Greensboro in the first place.
Also, his Idol doesn't seem to be Clay Aiken. It seems that he is a huge baseball junkie. Singing and performing don't seem to be a high priority for him according to his Myspace page.
Why does something about this "news report" stink to high Heaven? Oh,yeah.... It's FOX.

Clay Aiken's diva-like behavior has got one former fan pissed off.
The former "American Idol" star is being accused of booting a 15-year-old boy off of a concert line-up simply because he wasn't festive enough. Joshua Willard won a North Carolina singing competition, which gave him the chance to perform with the Greensboro Symphony during Clay Aiken's Holiday concert on Saturday.
Willard told TMZ he rehearsed his song, Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," and had just finished a soundcheck when managers of the Symphony told him the devastating news that Aiken's camp had decided that he would not be allowed to perform because he was not singing a Christmas song.
Bah humbug! Curiously, other singers who did have holiday songs prepared were also not allowed to sing.
Instead, Willard was only allowed to lead a 30-second group singalong.
Lisa Crawford, CEO of the Greensboro Symphony, told TMZ that the children were never promised they could sing with Clay; "It was his tour and show. We were just hired to play." During his concert, Willard says Aiken "was trying to be more of a comedian than a singer," -- and an unfunny one at that. Aiken made multiple references to his controversial appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly," where he attempted to put his hand over Ripa's mouth.
Willard says Aiken was rude to audience members and told several people to sit down and cover their mouth. Clay even showed a raunchier side by pretending he had flatulence every time feedback came through the speakers.
Talk about making a stink!An hour after the show, Willard got to meet Clay, but says that Miss Thing was "snotty" and acted like he was too good for his little fans. The former Claymates were even told not to take individual pictures with Aiken, only group shots. Willard is devastated and says that due to Aiken's behavior, he now "could care less of Clay." Joshua hopes to tryout for the next season of "American Idol," to show the world what a down to earth Idol is really like. Calls to Clay's rep were not immediately returned.

If it’s true, and I’m not saying it is, but if it’s true, Clay Aiken needs intervention.
Mama needs to step in there and ease him down off that high horse. We don’t breed our North Carolina young men to behave this way.
My story on Clay Aiken is an important one to tell, because it deals with fundamental human nature. And to be fair, I won’t judge him. That’s not my job. But in my interview with Joshua Willard, the 15-year-old kid who says Clay dissed him and others, I heard some things that bother me as a human being.
I was a contestant on Survivor: The Australian Outback. That was the grand daddy of all the Survivors. 33-million people watched the night I was voted out. The attention I got following that will never be rivaled in my lifetime. I was a guest on “The Early Show,” “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “Live with Regis and Kelly,” and so much more, and mostly within a 4-week period. I know what it feels like to have Hollywood shower you with attention, opportunity and flashbulbs. It can affect you if you let it.
I also worked for E! Entertainment Television and TV Guide Channel. I was on every red carpet, on all the sets interviewing star after star. In that, I saw wonderful people, but I also had my fair share of divas. They are evil. They have teeth and they’re typically surrounded by a group of people who worship them, feeding the monster. It can be ugly.
The worst diva is the reality show diva. They’re basically broke celebrities, but because they’ve instantly been showered with stardom, they act what they think is the part. I’ve interviewed almost all reality casts at one point or another and I’ve seen the worst of them. They saunter about as if they’d just won an Oscar, a SuperBowl and the lottery all in the same day.
I don’t know about Clay. But I’ve heard quite a bit. A couple of times I shared a charity stage with a “celebrity” who spent a great deal of time with Clay, fresh into his fame. The stories they told of tantrums and diva moments would curl your lashes. If that, and what Joshua Willard tells me is true, Aiken is a challenging soul. If he's the diva emailers tell me, he better pay his people well, since now he’s no broke celebrity. In Joshua’s story, there’s a lot you don’t see for various reasons.
To me, the most important ingredient missing is Clay. I called his management company in Los Angeles and did not get a call back. I contacted 19 Entertainment and did not get a call back. It’s the holidays so those offices are probably closed right now. Hollywood sleeps this time of year.
But I do want to hear Clay’s side of this story before I say much about my opinions on this specific situation. I will say, however, as a native resident of the Piedmont-Triad, someone who grew up here and left for the glitz and light….to potentially see a local “hero” to these children come to their backyard and dis them is obnoxious. It’s rude, childish, and a disgusting display of how we should treat our own. These children voted him into that coveted runner-up position. These are kids who dreamed of meeting Clay Aiken and worked hard to prepare for this moment to sing with him. This is admiration at its most basic level. And to deny them of this opportunity without an apology or reason why, if he did, is downright mean.
I want to know the reason, and it should be a good one. The truth in this matter is still out there, and until Clay gives his side, I’ll stand neutral. That’s my job. But I hope he returns my attempts to reach him. I really want to know why these kids say he did this. He has an open invitation to Fox8. We have a nice comfortable chair waiting on him, and green room for the entourage. I’ll buy the coffee, and his album if he’ll show up.

I Was Fired by Clay Aiken
So last night, December 23rd, I was supposed to sing at War Memorial here in Greensboro with the symphony for the Clay Aiken Christmas concert. The symphony was playing for Clay Aiken and they asked me to come out and render a couple of tunes with them during the pre-show. In addition, two contestants from CTG's Triad Idol (kids), as well as, the musicians from Triad Stage's production of Beautiful Star were also there. The symphony had gotten permission, as well as, money from the promoter of the event for all of this. At 7pm (the concert was at 7:30) we were all told that Clay Aiken had requested that there be no other singers. We don't know why. Speculation is that he was threatened by the fact that our combined talent was greater than the cast of American Idol. Other speculation is that he's a big baby. Either way, I did not get to perform at War Memorial with the symphony. But, they're already talking to me about next Christmas and doing the coliseum concert (20,000 people) and possibly recording a xmas album with the symphony.The best part is that I finally have a name for my memoirs, "I Was Fired by Clay Aiken".

I notice that you have 312 friends on your MySpace. Clay Aiken has more than 18,000 friends. Just a guess on my part but I would think that 99.9% of the audience was at the concert to hear the Symphony play and Clay Aiken sing and would not have been interested in another singer on the program. I know I wouldn't.

Ms Dames, I was at the concert last night and I'm a little confused about your comment that Mr. Aiken requested that there be no other singers. We were treated to a young girl who sang a fun rendition of "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" and then a boy and girl who led the audience in singing "White Christmas". Perhaps you meant that there were no adult singers... Maybe there were time constraints.
I do agree with the other person who left a comment. While the orchestra was excellent and the kids were fun, I basically paid to see one singer by the name of Clay Aiken. Mr Aiken doesn't need me to defend him, but he is usually very generous in sharing the stage. His backup singers actually sing full songs during his concerts.

I think the key word here is "speculation" as neither of those reasons jibe in the least with the very generous performer who in every single tour prior to this one (where he isn't using backups) has handed over the microphone and given all three of his backup singers a solo, during his show.. The stage to themselves and their own chance to shine. Who does that?
And these are amazing singers. Clay isn't joking when he says Quiana Parler blows people off the stage with "My Grown Up Christmas List." If he were at all nervous about being upstaged he would never hand his show over to Quiana Parler or Angela Fisher, both of whom have huge, showstopping voices and regularly get standing ovations for their solos.
There may be any number of reasons you weren't able to go on last night. Time constraints, contract issues, whatever, but fear of being overshadowed simply wasn't one of them.

Would it be possible for you to explain why others were allowed to sing and you were not? It seems that there were those who did sing during the symphony portion of the concert. Why is it you were the only one "fired by Clay Aiken"?Maybe there was a legitimate reason why you were not allowed to sing. Perhaps you were unwilling to accept that reason and decided to throw your own form of a temper tantrum.Are you really "the big baby" here? I'm inclined to think so.Please, change my mind. I'm interested in your explanation other than what you have posted here since this info. isn't entirely accurate.Mr. Aiken has always been very generous with sharing the stage, what did you do to eliminate your opportunity?

The post-concert buzz from Clay Aiken’s Christmas concert with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra is not all positive.
15-year-old Joshua Willard of Lexington was supposed to sing during Saturday’s concert. He rehearsed Saturday afternoon at the Greensboro Coliseum and was looking forward to singing on the same stage with Aiken. Joshua won the 2006 Triad Idol competition.
About half an hour after rehearsal, Willard said he was told his act had been cut from the show.
Joshua said Lisa Crawford from the Greensboro Symphony relayed a message from Clay’s team. Crawford reportedly told Joshua he was being cut from the show because he was not singing Christmas tunes.
As a consolation, Joshua was allowed to sing 30 seconds leading a group sing-along. He also got to go backstage to meet and get a picture with Clay.
"Clay's sitting there behind us kind of...barely touching us like he thinks we're diseased or something," said Joshua.
Clay used to be Joshua’s idol, now he has a different opinion. “He is very snotty and I don't want to have anything to do with him," added Joshua.
The Symphony confirms Joshua’s story. Greensboro Coliseum officials say Joshua was bumped because Clay decided to sing the longest set of his tour.As of Wednesday night, calls to Clay’s manager and promoters have not been returned to FOX8 News.

I've enjoyed reading the cellcerts, looking at the pictures, but I especially LOVE the Clack....
I've felt SO BAD that I didn't see Clay on his tour this holiday season. It's the 1st time EVER that I missed him in New York.
He was at the Tilles Center on the 14th of December(20 minutes away from me on Long Island) and in West Point on the 15th. We (my brother and sister and myself) threw a surprise 70th birthday party for my dad. We set the date for the party a year ago, and it was on the 15th!!!
We had 150 people coming and relatives coming in from Virginia Beach on the 14th. I couldn't go to the concert... I threatened to, but my brother and sister couldn't believe that I would "leave" my Virginia Beach relatives for an evening to see Clay(they don't get it)..anyway, I missed it...and when I heard about the Vertigo that night..I couldn't believe I wasn't there!!!...I felt so guilty. Anyway, the Clack has gotten me through it...I love some of the Clack from West Point...I love when the lady yelled out "Can I see your socks", and he said, "what? you want to see my socks"...I love that...I also loved just as he started singing chestnuts roasting on an open fire, he said "don't get dirty now"...it made me feel better...
Anyway, my dad's party was great and he was very surprised. When he heard that it was a CLAY NIGHT and I missed it, he couldn't believe what I sacrificed for him (my dad totally gets that I love Clay)
Anyway, I can't wait for the LOVE SONG TOUR....Hell will have to have freezed over for me to miss this one!!!!

"I said it before and I'll say it again. The OC upstarts, not to be confused with those who are just curious but those who are actively involved in ridiculing and demeaning Clay, are MANHATERS. It doesn't matter if the man is gay or straight. They hate all men because they fear them. Some of them have been abused, molested, abandoned and/or bullied growing up and they've become that which they've hated most. They have become the bullies. They are social misfits who were never accepted into the mainstream and have found a place where they feel they belong. They equate abuse with love because it's all they know. How many of them were slapped around or otherwise molested growing up and told it was for their own good?
99.9% of the gay population doesn't walk around acting like everyday is a gay pride parade. They denounce people who try to force someone out of the closet, because it's a very personal thing and can be very traumatizing. How many of the OC think that Clay's business is their business, and try to deny him his right to privacy and to self-identify? He's already self-identified a handful of times. He's trying to tell you to stay out of his business. For the two of you who put a letter in his pocket at a M&G telling him you'll still be his fans when he comes out, let me tell you how livid he was at that. You know who you are. He didn't appreciate it at all. Not because there's anything wrong with being gay. He's supportive of his friends and associates who are, but he's said time and again he isn't. He resents the insinuation that he's a liar. Walking around choking on your feather boas and inhaling your fairy dust while screaming "he's SO GAY," is not only disrespectful to him, it makes a mockery of gay rights in general. You're nothing more than attention seekers. Doesn't matter how you get the attention, just as long as you do. Same with a certain desperate famewhore wannabe. Kelly the screamer was proud she got Clay's attention at a concert. It doesn't dawn on her that the image she presents is of one who has a few screws loose and is a spoiled brat. What she did is akin to what a toddler in the terrible twos would do - have a temper tantrum in public. That's what she did and she isn't savvy enough to realize that she came off very negatively to all around her, including Clay.
There is a very low self esteem factor at work here. In order for them to feel "worthy" of a guy they find themselves drawn to (which in itself must be unsettling), they have to equal the playing field and drag him down to their level. By attempting to scare the fans away, they delude themselves into thinking they've got a potential superstar all to themselves, and thus they feel superior to everyone else.
"Look at me." It's all about THEM. They don't give a damn about Clay or his career; only how his star can impact theirs. In their own way, they're just as delusional and for some, just as pathological, as JP himself. He's trying to hook his own future to Clay's star, without any thought or care to the damage he is doing. He's deranged and upset that Clay won't pay attention to him and give him what he feels is his entitlement - his own celebrity and its associated perks. He risked his own job because he decided the upside was greater than the downside. He lost, and now he wants revenge. I also believe he was solicited to smear Clay's name and reputation in order to devalue him before he leaves RCA, but the job has proven much more difficult and the fans way more entrenched.
This has never been about "outing" a guy they feel stays in the closet because of his homophobic fanbase. First of all, most of the fans would accept him anyway because they love him that much. Same goes for his mom, and he's said himself that his faith is all accepting. If most of America assume's he's gay, what is stopping him from coming out? Like he told Diane Sawyer on GMA, "it wouldn't make any sense." You can't turn a straight man into a gay man and then force him to be a gay role model just because you spread rumors about him. Is he supposed to pretend just to get the monkey off his back?
For those from the OC who've been led down the primrose path thinking you're helping him out, boy, have you been had. TPTB in charge of this smear found a gullible audience in you. How many of you were in touch with JP before his story hit the NE back in January? We know of a few of you who were. Ask yourselves how certain of your ilk knew in advance what was coming. Ask your leader how she knew."

Immediately, a part of the book describing Diane Bubel and her family's treatment of her son Mike was flagged as an "editing" mistake. Here is the original quote from the hardback edition (Random House):
“Mike Bubel was a twelve-year-old child with autism. I worked with him every week for a year and a half. What struck me about Mike was that no one had ever attempted to introduce him to the public. He didn't speak at all. He was defined as "low functioning."
I decided I was going to take him to the grocery store and to the library. Because of what I had learned from Tina, I insisted to his mother, Diane, that he not be a shut-in. "We're not going to stay inside the house," I said.
Diane worried that he wouldn't be able to function well outside the home. I said, "Are you going to keep him in the house for the rest of his life? He needs to learn how to go out into the world."

In truth, Diane Bubel has been a long-time activist for children with special needs, and moved to North Carolina to benefit Mike’s development. She has also been an strong advocate for appropriate inclusion of such children in society. Clay was inspired by Diane and her family in this excerpt from an interview in “Exceptional Parent” magazine.

“Larry King: Anything in the book you regret?
Clay: I think part of … part of writing it, part of the difficult part of writing it was try to tell what … what was true and not offend anybody … there‘s .. there’s actually a section in there that didn’t get edited out …. you know, I actually went back and tried to reword things, and there’s a section in there about the child who I worked with … and, Mike Bubel, and it says that he actually was a shh … it implies that he never left his house … and, I think that the point that I was trying to get across was that he had, I mean he had a very fulfilled childhood .. he did, you know, all of the activities that kids normally do, but he … but what I wanted to try to do with him when I worked with him was to try to take him to the grocery store, and do some things with him there, like life skills, and .. uhh … and … pay for his groceries, and picking them out and doing that type of thing, and the way that it got conveyed in the book, before they … but, didn’t get edited out … was that he had never left the house, which kinda looked bad, and so I regret things like that, but, you know, for the most part, you know, the … the rest of it, out … outside of that particular passage, the rest of it, it’s, you know, the truth ….
Larry King: Did you explain it him?
Clay: Did I explain it to …. ?
Larry King: The boy?
Clay: I di … I ex … I spoke to his Mother and tried to explain the whole situation, you know it’s complicated, because you know, now it’s in print, and that, that makes things difficult ….

Clay's apology was a non-apology, completely inadequate and garbled, and most important, a lie. So, Clay tried to edit out this section? Try again. In fact, Clay read this section on his audiobook, which shows that he lied about attempting to edit this section. As for revising this section … well, since “LTS” has only sold about 100,000 copies of an initial run that was 200-225,000 copies, the only possible opportunity for a retraction was in the paperbook copy, which was released a year later in November, 2005.
Sadly, there have been so few copies of the paperback LTS sold that the vast majority of the readers have a completely erroneous impression of Diane and her family. The damage had been done.
This incident caused a lot of fans to feel very badly for Diane Bubel. It was rumored that Diane was upset and angry at the way that she had been portrayed. I don't blame her. If Clay treats people like Diane Bubel so badly, why should he care about lying and deceiving his fans?

Re the FTC Complaint. I agree. Did anyone notice how Justin and some others have tried to "come clean" on their drug use before their last releases? This may have been coincidental, but I don't think so.
I sincerely believe that the FTC thing struck a big nerve at RCA and in the recording industry and believe that there is some merit to the allegations. Many other consumer industries have been hit by fraud complaints and the record industry is still stinging from Payola 2. I think they have their heads down, and well they should.
Ironically, Clay may have benefited more from that industry fear than he should have. He has been sheltered by them.

I did not until tonite. I feel dooped and gee that new CD sure seems not to fit in my stereo anymnore. I have to make a run to wal-mart tomarrow to return the christmas cd that I bought for my son too, need to make myself a reminder on that. I'm not surprised. The Claymates were boasting about how Clay would clear the air completely and state emphatically that he was not gay. What allegedly happened the day before was, which is the woman and man were in his I think Astin Martin and a SUV withe tinted window pulled up and the window rolled down and Clay said "cool car," or somthing and drove away.
If I remember, there was talk that that was his private life so don't talk about it.
The part that was written above about the dealership, I know I read that on another board, don't remember where.
Now I remember. The story came from OC. I think that is one reason the OFC didn't like it.

Oh it's true alright. Here's the story:
This little incident happened Friday night Sept 29th. It was a fews day after he did Kimmel. My girlfriend and her boyfriend had dinner at The Bel Air Hotel that night and afterwards they were driving down Sunset Blvd. The boyfriend drives an Aston Martin Vanquish as I said in my previous post. Anyway, the top was down on the car and they were stopped at a stop light across from The Beverly Hills Hotel. On the passenger side of the car a limo pulls up next to them. The next thing my girlfriend and her
boyfriend notice is that the window goes down and a guy leans his head out and says "your car is awesome". The boyfriend says thank you and then the guy rolls the window up and they drive off. My girlfriend turns to her boyfriend and says you do know who that was and he replied no. She said that was Clay Aiken.
You would think that would be the end of story but it is not. Early next morning the boyfriend gets a phone call from the dealership where he purchased his car. The person on the line said that they got a phone call from this "celebrity" and this celebrity saw his car last night and was interested in getting in touch with the him. The boyfriend asked who the celebrity was that was interested. The person on the phone said they could not give out that information because he is in the "business". The boyfriend told the person on the line that he is not giving out his phone number to anyone and to tell this "celebrity" that I'm married and the woman I was with is my wife wife. He hung up and could not believe that Clay had taken down his license number and had tracked the car and him down.
No one would believe this senario had it not happened exactly as it happened. The coincidence of one driving this Aston Martin, having a limo pull up along side of it and having Clay Aiken say "your car is awesome" and then the next morning receiving a very suspicious phone call from no less the dealership in which you purchased said automobile and
saying a "celebrity" who cannot reveal their name is interested in you and would like to get in touch with you is beyond anyone's wildest imagination.
Clay had no way of knowing at the time if the woman in the car was his wife, girlfriend or just a friend. He didn't know whether the husband was straight or gay either.
All we can say is Clay had a lot of Chutzpah in doing what he did. Maybe he thought my friends did not recognize him at all. But my girlfriend noticed him immediatley. The boyfriend had no idea. To say the
he was not pleased about this "incident" is putting it mildly. When my girlfriend called me last night and told me what happened we all laughed and we said no one would believe us. But when she called me this morning and told me the latest they weren't laughing anymore.
Apparently, Clay not only cruises the internet for guys he's now taking the lower route by crusing the streets of Beverly Hills and picking up
handsome guys who drive outragous automobiles.
So when I say he frequents that gay club it's 100% true and is this story.

I don't think so, really I don't. Most fans I know don't care about Clay's sexual orientation. It is the sleaze factor while "preaching" moral standards that will turn many away unless he gets working on damage control right now. Unfortunately, it seems that his management team is too stupid to figure out the simple solution.

I like other celebrities and while I don't worship them, I do care about their well being and happiness. I don't feel the same affection for them exactly, that I do for those I know personally, but I still care for them. Nothing wrong with that. ;)

According to Clay's friend there is, just support the music. I have a cousin in the entertainment business and he does not act like that. Oh no we are not supposed to show any love or affection towards Clay, the friend said that loud & clear. Remember he "loves us all".

I am just another Clay fan who happens to know him a little. My whole purpose of being on this blog (for the last way too many months) is to keep an eye on John and see what he's talking about, and hope that the blog would go away.
Even if its not related to Clay specifically, this blog has become a haven for alot of nasty, racist, homophobic people who just make human beings in general look bad. If for no other reason, that's enough of a reason for the blog to go away.

Guess What?? I have been coming here for some of the same reasons plus I felt the need to go to a place that I could express honest feelings. Some are a little over the edge but I must say that JP has been more descent then alot of the others that have been known to post. I am not a JP supporter but I do think it was nice of him to sit back and let the ones of us that have tried to support Clay talk but if you have come here then maybe you have seen that?? I sure feel like I have been hung out to dry here tonite and it was not because of JP. I don't know what Clay feels about his fans but I will say one thing, I sure don't feel the love after tonite. I am going to say ENOUGH and go now!! I thought Clay said he would never let us down.

Kiss if you are who you say you are and you set up the Yahoo chat for this apology, didn't it occur to you or Clay that John has proven in the past to not be descreet and he would post the apology? Why not meet face to face where John could be assured of who he was talking with and there would be nothing in writing for John to use against him?
